AHDB Education:
• Primarily targets children of school age and young adults either directly or via teachers and parents
• Provides independent information, based on robust evidence
• Works with professional third party organisations to deliver measurable outcomes
• Identifies added value activity and actively seeks to reduce duplicate spend of levy
• Promotes the image of food and farming whilst also acknowledging AHDB’s role in up skilling levy payers and encouraging new entrants.
AHDB Education’s role is:
• To increase awareness of where food comes from and how it is produced by levy payers with care for the environment (to include farming/growing, processing/manufacturing and reference to seasonality)
• To raise awareness of the nutritional value levy payer produced food as part of a healthy balanced diet
• To develop a positive image of farming to support a sustainable and thriving industry
• To support the development of basic meal and food preparation skills in line with national competencies
• To raise the profile of the career opportunities in the farming and food supply industries
