Stonea Farm

Stonea Farm

Stonea Camp is Britain's lowest lying Iron Age Fort (7.5 m OD) and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument of National and International importance. Built by the Britons (Iceni) perhaps around 150 AD, it is one of the most significant prehistoric monuments in the Fens. Archaeological excavations at the site have demonstrated that the site has been inhabited since the Stone Age, with the Iron Age fort being the last and most visible feature.  Stonea Camp is one of the very few archaeological monuments in the Fens.
