Northside Head Farm

Northside Head Farm

The farmstead of Northside Head is situated at 1100 above sea level at the head of Nidderdale, lying within the Nidderdale AONB. It is surrounded by some in-bye fields which are enclosed by traditional dry stone walls which, together with the traditional field barns, are up to 200 years old. This traditional hill farm carries 24 beef suckler cows and 570 hill sheep (Dalesbred and Swaledale breeds). The cows are housed from November to May and the sheep are outside all the year living on the open moor tops in the summer.
