Higher Hacknell Farm

Higher Hacknell Farm, lying above the Taw Valley in the heart of rural Devon, has been farmed organically since 1988. The award winning farm demonstrates exemplary organic production and environmental practice. Biodiversity is important on the farm, which includes a wildlife area of three ponds within a woodland. There is also a traditional cider apple orchard. There is an area of wet "culm" hay meadows managed under a CS conservation scheme. The farm has a herd of 40 pedigree South Devons and a flock of 350 Texel and Lleyn sheep.
