West Fenton Farm has two Sites of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Area of Conservation. It is an arable/ horticultural farm of 600 acres with woodlands, wetlands, ponds, reedbeds, an oxbow lake and a river. The farm is on the site of a 13th Century fort. The farm has two SSSIs and has a whole farm conservation plan. Projects include: reedbed filtration scheme for drainage water; Oxbow lake conservation site, artificial otter holt,
