The Borough's most recent visitors centre opened in 2000. The recently planted 300 acres, is one of the regions newest woodlands.
Sculpture trails, orienteering, meadows, lake, picnic areas, country walks and visitor centre with photovoltaic cells and wind turbine. Mound with excellent views of surrounding area. Visitor centre with small shop, toilets and information.Since 1990 a staggering 300,000 trees have been planted, including the sturdy Oak, the ash, pine, sycamore, cherry, alder and the stooping willow. This tree planting is a great way to get involved in with your local community and many schools, churches and other local groups have been involved. Why not come along and make a difference to your local environment, through this rewarding experience.
