The Thames Chase Forest Centre is both a 56hectare site and focal point buildings. The site has been developed since 1992 from arable farmland, as an example of a typical Community Forest landscape, and is now owned and managed by the Forestry Commission. Meadows, ponds, and even an orchard of traditional Essex apple varieties, nestle amongst developing woodland. Over 7km of accessible paths provide all year access around the site.
