Leighton Moss

Leighton Moss

The largest remaining reedbed in north-west England, with shallow meres and fringing sedge and woodland, attracts a wonderful range of wildlife to Leighton Moss. Among its special birds are breeding bitterns, bearded tits and marsh harriers, with water rails and pochards, and its mammals include roe and red deer. Children, as well as adults, will enjoy finding out more about the reserve from the imaginative displays in the visitor centre.
