The Brancaster Activity Centre on the north Norfolk coast was opened in 1999, offering both residential and day courses for students from year 3 to degree-level geographers and biologists. The setting for all these activities is the 1,600-hectares (4,000-acres) that the Trust cares for at Brancaster in north Norfolk, an important habitat for thousands of shorebirds, as well as mammals like grey and common seals, many of which can be seen whilst staying at the centre.
The centre's courses and programmes allow students to explore coastal habitats and woodland ecosystems, along with other geographical, historical and scientific topics. We offer the only Coastal Safari activity which allows students and teachers to literally get hands on with nature. There are also cycling, kayaking, sailing, orienteering and team-building challenges, all led by qualified and experienced instructors.
