LEAF's Farm Trail Board and Activity Sheets

LEAF’s Farm Trail delivers some simple sustainable farming messages based around the 9 sections of Integrated Farm Management (IFM): soil, crops, recycling, animals, energy, water, nature, community, and organisation. Produced by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), a UK-based global environmental charity who promotes and supports farmers in 33 countries worldwide to farm sustainably by implementing the principles of IFM.
LEAF’s Farm Trail information boards and activity sheets can be used on farms to help guide visitors round the venue, but equally can be used at schools in the classroom or grounds, as a fun educational activity to enable children to learn about the different aspects of sustainable farming.

Energy Trumps

Our latest Energy trumps resource is available as a FREE bi-lingual download from the resources section of the CAT website. Fact files are available to download with each energy trumps card. Developed by Centre for Alternative Technology and updated in 2015, the Energy Trumps cards have been used from year 6 to adults. The set of 30 cards compare energy sources and ways of using the energy sources, in a scientifically rigorous but engaging way. In this Trumps game low impact wins. The cards can be played as a game and we have also developed extension activities. For more information or to arrange a day or residential visit to our Sustainability themed visitor centre email education@cat.org.uk
