Countryside Learning

After another successful year in 2019, Countryside Learning is preparing for its 2020 programme of events including Countryside Classroom Days, woodland sessions, Let’s Learn Moor and Countryside Live events. We get children out into the countryside, including those from inner cities and deprived communities, to take part in fun, educational events, whilst also providing the well-reported benefits of outdoor learning. To improve our risk assessments this year we will be using the what3words app to assist emergency services in finding our venues.

Our next Countryside Live event in Yorkshire, on 20 and 21 May 2020, is now taking bookings. This event caters for up to 2000 children per day and is set out like a country fair with marquees and a central arena. 40 exhibitors attend to carry out hands-on activities with the children. 'The whole day is an experience our children would never access were it not for this event. The site gives a safe space for children to explore and engage in new learning. Organisation is exceptional and make it easy for us to do things which may otherwise be avoided due to perceived risks.'

21 May also sees Countryside Classroom days in Ewelme and Chiddingstone and is also an Outdoor Classroom Day - use the link for more details and to get involved.
