The inclusion of meat in any diet is a personal choice, but in order to make informed choices pupils need the opportunity to find out how meat is produced. This section allows learners to think about the animals that provide us with meat and how they are cared for. For some people the sustainability of the industry in relation to climate change is also a basis for making choices. Older students have the opportunity to investigate and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of including meat in a balanced diet.
