Wimpole Estate

Wimpole Estate

With an impressive mansion, formal gardens and one of the largest Rare Breeds centres in Britain, Wimpole offers the chance to discover life on a thriving working estate.
At the heart of Wimpole Estate is the Home Farm. Created in 1794 for the 3rd Earl of Hardwicke, the 2,500 acre mixed farm is now home to rare breed cattle, poultry, pigs and sheep.
School groups (Key Stages 1&2) can experience life on the farm, with curriculum-linked activities led by our volunteers that will see you mill flour, make butter with a Victorian dairymaid, meet the animals on the farm and tour our walled kitchen garden.
You can find more details of what we can offer schools (including Health and Safety advice, a farm risk assessments and practical visit information for teachers) on our website.
