Ryton Organic Gardens

Ryton Organic Gardens

Ryton Organic Gardens is the home of Garden Organic, the UK's leading organic growing charity. Garden Organic has been at the forefront of the organic horticulture movement for 50 years and is dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food. A visit to the gardens, which are managed entirely organically, will provide an opportunity to experience and engage with the outdoors and explore nature. Organic gardens also provide a safe haven for wildlife and are fascinating to visit over the changing seasons. Ryton demonstrates how to keep pests and diseases at bay without using harmful sprays and offers examples of a range of organic gardening methods.
Combining a tour of the gardens with a visit to the Organic Way provides all visitors with up-to-date information on how food is produced, where different vegetables originate from and the vast range of vegetables that are available. In addition, the message that vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet is reinforced. The site is suitable for visits by pupils of all ages; we can make your visit relevant to the work of your individual school and the educational needs of your pupils with use of a variety of activities which can be used indoors as well as out in the gardens.
Ryton Organic Gardens is a lovely place to spend your free time, whether it’s the whole day or just part of it. Centrally located, Ryton Organic Gardens is the perfect choice for a day out in the Midlands.
