We offer high quality, fun, interactive visits for schools and groups at our Waste Experience centres. At Pilsworth (Bury) Landfill site visitorssee the waste being received and buried. Visitors also observe the ways the environmental impacts areminimised and see how electricity is generated from landfill gas and how the liquid is treated. As well as visiting the site, groups will be able to take part in activities to increase their understanding of waste. In particular why reducing, reusing and recycling are important, how waste will be treated in the future and how to reduce the amount waste we produce. Groups can visit for a half day, full day or simply a site tour. Primary schools are recommended to visit for a full day to benefit from the range of activities on offer. The minimum age is 7 years old (visits are suitable for year 3 and above). Bespoke sessions can be arranged on subjects such as Real Chemistry, Biology, Engineering and Economics. Only available to residents of Greater Manchester excluding Wigan
