Applesham Farm is an 850 acre mixed farm on the south downs. The Passmore family have farmed here for over a hundred years. The main enterprises are arable sheep and beef. We grow about 460 acres of winter wheat, winter beans, winter oilseed rape and spring barley and lupins. We have 65 limousin and limousin cross beef cows which calve outdoors in the spring. We also have 340 Lleyn and Texel cross Lleyn ewes which lamb outdoors during April. The farm also has a healthy population of wildlife including grey partridge skylarks and corn buntings.
