Central Farm is a 103.83 ha organic grassland and arable farm situated in the historic village of Tolpuddle. It has been farmed by the Crocker family for four generations and achieved full organic status in April 2001. The scenic landscape is one of chalk downland and houses a 42 sow pig herd, consisting of traditional English breeds - British Saddlebacks, Large whites and Berkshires. The farming system is directed towards the conservation of natural resources and to looking after the downlands and water meadows. It is designed to increase the wildlife habitats available and to encourage wild meadows flowers and grasses.
