Broomlands

Broomlands is a 70-acre farm within the High Weald AONB; 45 acres of species-rich, semi-natural grassland are grazed by a herd of Sussex suckler cows while 25-acres of ancient semi-natural woodland, including the tallest beech tree in the county, are being bought back into coppice rotation. An enchanting hidden valley with cascading sandstone waterfalls conceals the site of a deserted medieval settlement terraced into the steep sided valley. This Scheduled Ancient Monument has 21 house-platforms which are still visible to the trained eye.
