Broad Oak farm is a 35 ha mixed livestock and arable farm on the urban fringe farm where the main enterprises are pigs, beef and potatoes. The Booths are potato merchants. The arable crops are grown on a 4 year rotation to allow some land stay as stubble over the winter and some to lay fallow for the summer. They are doing an extensive conservation programme including restoring hedges and ponds, creating new grassland and replanting the orchard with traditional varieties of fruit trees. Groups will be based in a cabin on the yard, which overlooks the farmland.
