Ambersham Common

Ambersham Common is one of the finest heathland sites in West  Sussex and was made a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 1954. The area is managed for a number of rare wildlife species such as the Dartford Warbler, Sand Lizard and Nightjar.
Guided walks showing wildlife and examples of heathland management and practical management tasks are available on the site. The site has plenty of historical interest too and contains Bronze Age Barrows an estimated three and a half millennia old.
