The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) is the national charity for learning outside the classroom (LOtC). We support educational establishments & LOtC providers in offering high quality learning experiences that help pupils to achieve. We also work with schools to remove any perceived barriers to LOtC that may exist.

LOtC Quality Badge. Highlighted in government health and safety guidance for schools, this national accreditation benchmarks providers of all types of LOtC experiences (from adventurous activity centres to farms, museums and overseas tour operators) offering good quality educational experiences and managing risk effectively. Look for the LOtC Quality Badge when planning educational visits to gain assurance and reduce paperwork. www.lotcqualitybadge.org.uk.
LOtC Mark. The first national accreditation for schools which recognises and supports the development of LOtC across all subject areas. LOtC Mark benchmarks schools at either Bronze, Silver or Gold level, with guidance and support to help schools to progress through the levels and drive up the quality of their LOtC offering.
LOtC Resource Packs. Lesson plans for delivering the English, maths, science and history curricula outside the classroom.
Training. CLOtC training courses offer advice on using LOtC as a tool for raising attainment, improving quality of teaching and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. We can also tailor bespoke courses for your school.
