Marsden Bay/Souter Lighthouse

Marsden Bay/Souter Lighthouse
Souter Lighthouse (Marsden) is home to the most important mainland seabird colony between the rivers Tweed and Tees. It is the ideal place to bring your class for an outstanding and most memorable experience of nature. You can experience spectacular close-up views of the kittiwakes, fulmars, herring gulls and cormorants nesting on ledges on the limestone cliffs and stacks. The whole of the coastline is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is managed by the National Trust. If the tide is out, there are also exciting rock pools, which the children will love to explore. See also: Other Organisations
