Chrissie Neville, Learning With Nature

Starting this term, Learning With Nature will be working with St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Nympsfield, Gloucestershire, to embed outdoor learning in their school curriculum. Every Friday, for the whole school year, the children will be taking part in outdoor-learning sessions, alongside other enrichment activities. The school has planned a whole-school curriculum topic called ‘Blue Planet’ (as a result of the children’s interest in the environment following the Blue Planet series) and outdoor learning will form a core part of this curriculum.

Chrissie Neville, founder of Learning With Nature, is working alongside the teaching staff to plan these sessions and identify curriculum links. Staff will come outside with their pupils so that Chrissie can coach them in delivering outdoor-learning sessions. By planning with staff, and training them alongside delivery of the sessions, it is hoped that the school will be able to ensure the sustainability of outdoor learning as a key part of their school curriculum.
