Autumn wowed the judges with a beautifully balanced bake made using flour from regeneratively grown LEAF Marque wheat and fruit sourced from the local Alcester Community Fridge — a fantastic celebration of sustainable farming, local produce and community spirit.
The judges praised the bake for its lovely balance of flavour, noting that it was not too sweet, beautifully presented and incredibly appealing, with an understated style that allowed the quality of the ingredients to shine through.
This competition was a brilliant example of young people connecting food, farming, sustainability and creativity — exactly what Countryside Classroom and LEAF are all about. Thanks to local business The Lounge at 26 who sponsored £150 prize for the winning school food department!
Well done to Autumn and to all the students who took part for showcasing such impressive talent and passion for local food!
