Free photography competition for students aged 17 and under

Saturday, 10 October 2026
Countryside Classroom

Looking for a creative project for your students? The Youth Prize of the World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® gives students the chance to have their work exhibited in a London gallery, and it’s completely free to enter.

Photos can tell any kind of food story: baking with family, vegetable growing in the school garden, a market stall or lunch with friends. Professional cameras aren’t necessary; photos can be taken using a camera or a mobile phone.

There are two age categories: 12 & under and 13–17 years. The winner of each category will:

  • Have their photograph exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London
  • Be invited to our VIP Awards Evening

The Youth Prize makes a great school photography project, art class assignment, photography club activity or holiday project. It gives students an opportunity to creatively engage with the different ways food touches our lives (and potentially see their work recognised and exhibited alongside premier photographers from around the world).

Entries are free and close on Sunday 8 February 2027. Find out more and submit entries here.
