Hardwick Hall
Built by Bess of Hardwick in the 1590s and relatively unchanged since, Hardwick Hall boasts a fine collection of 16th and 17th century furniture, portraits and textiles. The site also includes Hardwick Old Hall (English Heritage), the ruin of an Elizabethan house, Stainsby Mill, a water-powered mill with 13th century origins and extensive parkland. See also: Farms
