While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouragedA 1,529 acre arable and dairy farm forming part of the Blagdon Estate. The Farm is managed by the Sentry Farming Group and is a good example of how profitable farming can be carried out in harmony with the environment.
An active hedgerow planting policy and maintenance of established hedges provides rich habitat for wildlife. Extensive woodlands further enhance the landscape which harbour large numbers of red squirrels and roe deer.
