While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged. A 750 acre mixed arable, dairy and pig enterprise located in the village of Bishop Burton, just three miles west of Beverley. For many years, Cold Harbour Farm has been managed with due consideration for the environment, following IFM principles. Grass strips have been established on the field edges with native grasses and wild flowers and an active programme of hedge regeneration has been implemented.
