Great Wollaston Farm

Great Wollaston Farm

While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged.

Great Wollaston is a 242 acre mixed family farm situated on the edge of the Shropshire Hills, on the English/Welsh border. We grow winter wheat, winter barley and spring lupins for home use with any excess being sold off the farm as well as maize, peas and spring barley for our herd’s forage. Our dairy herd is 110 strong. The family has farmed Great Wollaston for more than fifty years and conservation has always been a priority but never seen to be in conflict with commercial farming.
