While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged. Greenhills Farm is a mixed arable and dairy farm, consisting of 169 acres. the cows are milked in an '8 abreast' parlour, which is seen as key to the herds husbandry enabling every animal to be treated individually, and thoroughly looked after, with hygiene being of paramount importance. As a mixed farm the arable and dairy enterprises benefit one another through good rotations and the use of organic manure.
