Oneholmes Farm

Oneholmes Farm

While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged. A 1,270 acre mixed farm located eight miles south of Middlesbrough. The mixture of arable crops and livestock found on Oneholmes Farm, although typical of traditional methods, is not so typical of current farming practices in the area. Oneholmes is truly mixed with a suckler cow herd, beef cattle and sheep, as well as a substantial acreage of cereals, oilseed rape and other arable crops. It demonstrates clearly the principles of IFM within a mixed farming system.
