Pantgwyn has a rare breed, beef suckler herd of Red Poll cattle. It is set in a wooded valley and is a member of Tir Gofal (Agri-environmental) Scheme. There is conservation grazing in species-rich grassland and the managed woods show a wide range of habitats from conifers to broadleaves, from new planting to mature woodland.
