Swanbourne Home Farms is comprised of 1100 acres of mixed pasture and arable land and forms part of the Swanbourne Estate. The estate is owned by the Fremantle family (founders of Fremantle in Western Australia), who have lived here for over 200 years. Much of the pasture forms part of ancient field systems with ridge and furrow and old parkland. The farm has arable cropping including wheat, oats, oilseed rape (also grown for industrial use) and beans. There is a sucklerherd of 80 cows and followers and a flock of 250 ewes. Under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme are 26km of 6m margins and 12km of 2m margins. There is much tree planting and parkland restoration, reversion of arable land to a wild flower meadow, unimproved pastures and restoration of an old orchard. Many black poplars.
