Tor Top Farm consists of 13 acres split between one two fields, one of four acres the other (SSSI) of nine acres. The SSSI is rarely used. It is an area of upland limestone on the border of the Dark gritstone and White Peak limestone areas in the Peak District National Park. The site consists of a dramatic range of ravines and plateau grassland. The main ravine contains a stream which disappears underground at an impressive limestone cliff containing two caves called Dr Jackson & Perryfoot. Access to the caves is permitted only to very experienced potholers. The SSSI supports a range of habitats, from species rich marsh in the ravine bottoms, lime loving plants of the cliff face, to dry acid grassland on the steep banks and wet, rushy pasture on the plateau areas.
