Heiffers Farm covers 73ha, comprising a mixture of habitats: ponds, culm grassland and a network of species rich hedgerows bordering small fields. A recognised County Wildlife Site, it is bordered by a tributary of the river Dart. Traditional and rare breed sheep, goats and miniature spotted and Shetland ponies are bred here. Walks show domestic and wild animals in natural surroundings. Large covered areas are used for lectures, demonstrations and a hands on approach to the animals.
