The land consists of old meadows and orchard, and a more recently planted orchard. Two of the meadows have been grassland for at least 50 years and their boundaries can be traced back over 130 years. These fields and their boundary ditches and hedges contain a wide variety of species. The old orchard is overgrown and is being managed to encourage scrub as a nightingale habitat. The new orchard is being managed for fruit. All visits are arranged through the adjacent Swanwick Nature reserve, managed by Hampshire Wildlife Trust
