Poplar Farm is a Norfolk County Council owned farm. The tenant farmer is Andrew Charlton. The farm is open fen land with gentle undulations, where patches of silty soil mix with peaty loam. The farm is in the process of conversion to organic status. Cropping is all arable, consisting mainly of wheat and sugarbeet. Over 8000 willow trees have been planted since 2000 to form a natural screen around the boundaries.
