Earth Balance 2000, was incorporated in October 2000, became a Registered Charity in November 2000 and commenced activities in December 2000. The Charity is based at West Sleekburn Farm in the heart of South East Northumberland. The site is not a public site it is a private site leased by the Charity Earth Balance 2000 from its landlord Wansbeck District Council. The 220 Acre site was developed in partnership with the local authorities, local business and the community to show how natural resources can be sustained, jobs created and energy harvested without waste or pollution. The site is open all year round and entry is free, but visitors are asked to respect the fact that it is a working site, home to a range of businesses. Structured tours can be arranged.
