Wagtail Farm is a working mixed hill farm situated in the narrow part of the SSSI Coquet Valley opposite the National Trust Cragside Estate. The 630 acre farm is only 1 mile from Rothbury centre.

There is a herd of 70 suckler cows and two flocks of sheep; a Mule inbye flock and a Blackface hill flock. There is a very small amount of winter barley grown for feeding to livestock plus hay and silage.

A large part of the farm is under a Countryside Stewardship Scheme whereby moorland regeneration, rare upland hay meadows and permanent pasture are all managed. Public access is also allowed through pastures with ancient ridge and furrow and an iron age fort.
