The CSS’s piece of land adjoins the Ryhall Heath/Vale Farm SSSI, which is old pasture on a limestone escarpment giving an area rich in heathland plant species. The CSS area is on a less steep part of the escarpment and prior to our ownership has been ploughed up and cropped with cereals.
