The Farmed Environment Company is based at Manor Farm, in the village of Eddlethorpe, surrounded by spectacular North Yorkshire countryside. It is a 405-acre all arable enterprise, growing winter wheat, winter oilseed rape and spring cereals. The farm is used as the site for a wide range of studies looking at the integration of practical wildlife conservation with commercial farming. There are many sites of interest on the farm including ancient woodlands and streams and a wide range of flora and fauna. New wildlife habitat sites have also been created, including hay and wildflower meadows, grass and wildflower margins, islands and corners and wild bird feeding areas.
