Venn Barton

Venn Barton

Venn Barton is an old farmstead of 156 acres dating back to the Doomsday period. Situated in the culm grass measures just off Dartmoor, it has areas of wet acid grassland and is very rich in rare plants and animals. Surrounded by trees, hedgerows, ancient woodland and bordered by rivers and streams, with a millpond, a water wheel and old farm buildings, one is easily able to feel the character of rural England. Sheep and cattle graze throughout the year, with lambs and young calves running about in spring. You can walk and study the abundance of animals, plants, insects and birds. Malcolm and Rosemary Light welcome you to come and see farming, stewardship and conservation and the natural regeneration of native plants and animals.
