Known locally as Bluebell Woods, the park is an ideal place for a family day out with great opportunities for getting close to nature. It offers 100 acres of mature woodland, meadow and riverside to explore beside the River Blyth with an information centre, nature trails and picnic areas. Birds and wildlife include great spotted woodpeckers, kingfishers, red squirrel, roe deer and otters. A small disused quarry in the heart of the park provided the stones for the rebuilding of the Houses of Parliament in London in 1859.
