Lorton Meadows is situated close to Weymouth in a quiet valley running between Upwey and Littlemoor with distant views of Weymouth Bay and the Isle of Portland. Approximately half the reserve is scheduled as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and the remains of a fine, formerly listed, traditional Dorset barn made from local limestone have been converted to a private dwelling and reserve information centre.
