The ecocentre was built in 2004 and demonstrates sustainable ways of design, construction and day to day living. The centre aims to show how making small changes in everyday life can make all the difference to the future of the environment.

One full time teacher will staff the classroom with support from teacher secondments and a community outreach worker (principally aimed at the public education side). Sessions at the Centre will be targeted at Year 5 and Year 8 and will cover relating aspects of the National Curriculum.
