Science Learning Centre North West

Science and technology are fundamental to the landscape and culture of the North West, from the striking geology of the Lake District to the industry of Lancashire, from the urban conurbations of Manchester and Merseyside to the agricultural landscape of Cheshire. The Science Learning Centre North West is working to harness these diverse resources to deliver inspiring and innovative professional development to science teachers, teaching assistants and technicians across all sectors, from primary to post-16.

We also work closely with LAs, HEIs, local industry, museums, the ASE, specialist schools and other partners in developing and delivering our programme of CPD.

Through these partnerships the Science Learning Centre North West is creating a thriving network that aims to engage teachers from every school across the region. The Centre has already worked with over 1800 teachers, technicians and teaching assistants from over 820 schools to introduce new, exciting and contemporary ways of teaching science into the classroom across the 4 to 19 age range.
