Monks Hall Farm

Monks Hall represents an excellent example of a modern working dairy unit. The home block is109ha and offers a wide range of species rich habitats, including a significant length of the River Weaver (approx 2.5km), of which management of riverbanks to prevent erosion is being undertaken. Other landscape features include a well-established hedgerow network and a number of woodland pockets, some with ponds. Cropping includes, grass, maize, wheat and spring barley, produced for own consumption. A wild bird seed mix is sown on three separate plots around the farm for game cover.
