Piercebridge Farm is completely organic which means no sprays or artificial fertilisers are used. There are extensive hedges, walls and grasslands which create varied habitat for wildlife and a wide range of wild flowers. The remains of a Roman Fort and bridge can also be seen. A farm walk led by well-informed members of the farm staff allows visitors to learn about the organic farming system. Currently the farm is totally laid down to grass, with no arable crops. The farmed animals include pigs, sheep, cattle and chickens. These can all be clearly seen from various vantage points on the walk.
