Garway Hill Common

Garway Hill is 84ha of common land being managed under Environmental Stewardship to enhance habitats for birds and invertebrates by reducing the density of the bracken. The common is grazed by Welsh ponies and sheep which are owned by commoners exercising their rights. The boundaries of the common are being restored, the archaeological features protected from damage and the pond is being restored. The common land is used in conjunction with adjacent farmland and so provides an alternative view of farming and agriculture.
