Oak Lodge Farm

Visits to our farm begin with the group being welcomed in the farmyard. Bags are to be left in the corner of the old tool shed and everyone sits on straw bales for an introductory talk about the farm, this will include a brief description about the enterprise, along with a reminder about health and safety. The group will visit the animals in their own environments. A viewing of the milking parlour will be available although this will be done in small groups, especially if it coincides with milking times. Next, the children may wish to do an activity (pre-arranged with teachers) e.g.: drawing, etc, which could possibly tie in with Key Stage 1 and 2 of the National Curriculum.
